Hey Moms! Since May is the month when we traditionally celebrate motherhood, why not take some time to nurture your vocation as Mom? Here’s just a sampling of some of the new books we’ve gotten in here at the Resource Centre:

Did you know that the Archdiocesan Resource Centre has an extensive collection of DVDs about the lives of the saints? The saints are an important part of our Catholic heritage. In their faithfulness to God’s call, the saints provide us with shining examples of what it means to follow Christ. And just like we sometimes ask a beloved friend to pray for us, we often ask particular "patron" saints to pray for us if we feel they have a particular interest in our problem.

What is St. Patrick’s Day all about? Is it more than parties and green beer...as fun as those things can be? Why not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in your parish this year by having a St. Patrick’s Potluck and Movie Night? You could invite parishioners to bring their favorite green food ... or their favorite Irish dish ... and then after supper, watch a movie together. The Archdiocesan Resource Centre has a number of excellent DVDs of various lengths that tell that story of the real Patrick. Have fun, build community and find out who St.

If your parish or deanery is looking for something new to do for adult faith formation, why not consider the new DVD series Dogmatic Theology? Produced by Father James Mallon (who also created the much loved Catholicism 201), Dogmatic Theology is an eight part DVD series full of humour, insight and theological consideration. Each theme explores an aspect of the Catholic faith, is illuminated with a witness story as well as a teaching by dogmatic theologian, Dr. David Deane.

Christmas Cottage: is inspired by the picturesque paintings ofThomas Kinkade, and tells the semi-autobiographical tale of how a young boy is propelled to launch a career as an artist after he learns that his mother is in danger of losing the family home.

The Archdiocesan Resource Centre will once again be hosting CATHOLIC STORYTIME - a half hour of stories, songs and crafts for little ones! Come and join us Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. from November 17 - December 8 at 445 Broad Street North. Children must be accompanied by an adult.     This week, I had the opportunity to hang out with some high school students as  we embarked on a  "pilgrimage walk".  We processed through parts of South Regina, with a group of about 70 teenagers, stopping at various points along the way to pray and reflect. We were led by some pretty talented wandering minstrels!
