MISSION

The mission of the Diocesan Pastoral Services is to provide service in response to
the needs of the people of God in the Archdiocese of Regina.

OBJECTIVES

  • To foster an atmosphere of hospitality, friendliness and concern
  • To promote a response to the Call to Pastoral Action
  • To work in collaboration with other staff persons in the service of the parishes
  • To ensure that programming is brought to areas outside the city of Regina
  • To assess our service in light of the ongoing and changing pastoral needs of the Archdiocese

MANDATE

To assist the Archbishop of Regina in carrying out his pastoral responsibilities by initiating, integrating,
coordinating and managing pastoral programs for which the diocese is responsible.

To collaborate with the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council and its committees in carrying out their mandate.

Visitation House Honours Volunteers

Visitation House Executive Director Theresa Hilbig expressed her thanks to the 30 volunteers and board members for their support and encouragement in the past year at a tribute evening held on April 23 at Holy Cross Parish. Visitation House is a drop in centre for women established by the Regina Archdiocese to provide support for inner city women.  Read More

Food for Visitation House

Joan Zook, co-owner with her husband Wayne of Sobeys in south Regina, February 15, presented $2,000.00 in gift cards to Visitation House Director Theresa Hilbig. Zook, a regular volunteer at Visitation House, said in an interview that as a volunteer she sensed there is a great need for more fruit and vegetables for the women who frequent Visitation House. “Some of these women desperately need food.” Hilbig was very grateful for the donation which she said will be put to good use.     This week, I had the opportunity to hang out with some high school students as  we embarked on a  "pilgrimage walk".  We processed through parts of South Regina, with a group of about 70 teenagers, stopping at various points along the way to pray and reflect.
