2016 Annual Appeal

Dear People of the Archdiocese of Regina

You may not be aware of it, but you have given me an incredible gift.

I grew up in a family where faith was important. But as I got older, it became more difficult to keep my faith at the centre of my life. Like many young people I had so many questions about God, but no clue how to find the answers.

More than anything, I wanted to know if God had a plan for my life.

Through my involvement with the Church and the Archdiocese of Regina, my questions are finally being answered. I know that God has a plan for my life, and my current role at the archdiocese is a part of that calling.

And for me, this journey has been an incredible Gift of Mercy.

It was through my involvement with Youth Ministry as a young adult that I was able to have an incredible faith experience and to truly encounter God for the first time in my life. The Youth Ministry Office, along with an entire team of young adults, had to journey with me for a long time before I was able to give anything in return. They loved me even before I was willing to love them back.

That, my friend, is mercy.

Without Youth Ministry, I would not be the man I am today.

And your donation to the Annual Appeal made this possible.

A friend of mine once described mercy as a gift that, once we receive it, we are called to give it away to others. Your donation to the Annual Appeal has allowed me, and countless others, to do exactly that. The work we do every single day would not be possible without your support.

I can’t begin to express the difference you have made in my life, and how you have touched the lives of so many in our Catholic family of faith. For your gifts, your prayers, and your commitment to Our Lord in your own faith, I cannot begin to thank you enough.

Sometimes it is difficult to understand the impact of our contributions to the faith of others. But I want to tell you that every donation – big or small – truly makes a significant difference in the work we all do for God.

Along with this letter, we are sending you a quick update on just a few of the many ways your donations have extended the Gift of Mercy to so many individuals in our community. The donations we receive through the Annual Appeal from faithful Catholics like you create so many opportunities for people to explore and strengthen their faith and feel God’s love.

When you donate to the Annual Appeal, your donations help fund grants for a variety of work being done right at the grassroots level by Catholics just like you who want to share the love of Christ with their communities.

Witnessing the incredible work we can do together in His name is a humbling and awe-inspiring experience.

And in my daily work, when I am able to help reach a young person in a way that impacts their life, I cannot help but think of how your support has made this possible.

The best part of my job is being able to witness firsthand the many ways that God is working in the lives of our youth. Being able to literally watch them grow up and become faith role models within their own friend circles is as incredible as it is inspiring, and gives me great hope for the future of our Church.

Please help me share God’s love with our youth, and with all our brothers and sisters with a gift to the Annual Appeal today.

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for you. Without your prayers and support, none of the amazing work that we do at the Archdiocese of Regina would be possible. We can all do so much to share His love and mercy with our entire community and beyond.

Yours sincerely in Christ,
Braden Kuntz

PS –  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” Matthew 19:14. Let us never forget that we are all children of God, and His mercy is a gift for each and every one of us. May we be merciful like Our Father, and share our love for Him through our good deeds and gifts to one another. Your donation to the Annual Appeal helps share His love and mercy!  - Fr.Carlos Jimenez
