Ten years of talent was showcased last week as some members of the Archdiocesan Youth and Young Adult Leadership Teams celebrated their “Favourite Things.” This Variety Night show, celebrating its 10th year... was a three hour extravaganza showcasing some of the favourite music, dance and comedy from Variety Night over the last 10 years.
Variety Night is an annual initiative of the Archdiocese of Regina Youth and Young Adult Leadership Teams. It is a dynamic evening of music, drama, dance, comedy and food! This year we celebrate 10 years with a show entitled “Our Favorite Things” in which we feature some of our favorite acts from over the last 9 years. It’s a great night out for a worthy cause! This year’s proceeds go to orphanages in the Philippines and Belize as well as some local charities. Shows are held at Resurrection Parish on May 26, 27, 28, 29.
Probably one of the most commonly asked questions that I hear voiced in our churches today is the ever present lament: “How are we going to get our young people back into our churches?” Now… I used to think that I happen to hear this all the time because I am the youth coordinator, but I am starting to see it is a concern that crosses over into most areas of ministry.
Are you a trained youth minister?? Or a parish member called to minister to youth in your parish on a volunteer basis? In either case, it is important to seek the support of others in the same field so that you may grow, be renewed and become even more effective in your ministry. On this page I will be posting links to helpful websites and monthly thoughts or ideas for activities that I have enjoyed and would like to share! You can also check out the page entitled Youth Training (from menu on right side of page) for workshop and training opportunities.
