Campion College seeks a qualified candidate to fill the position of Campus Minister. This full-time, permanent position includes a competitive salary and university benefits. This position reports directly to the President of Campion College; it provides oversight and direction for all Campus Ministry activities while serving to advance the Ignatian and Catholic identity and mission of the institution.
The qualified candidate will adhere to the Code of Ethics as outlined by the Canadian Catholic Campus Ministry network; he or she will represent Campion College in faith-based and secular contexts to the University of Regina, the Archdiocese of Regina, as well as the wider community.
The starting date for the Campus Minister position is July 1, 2018.
Promote the Ignatian and Catholic mission of Campion College, particularly within the realms of discernment and leadership.
Collaborate with local Catholic groups and networks as well as ecumenical and interfaith partners such as Luther College at the University of Regina and the Regina Multi-Faith Forum.
Promote spiritual development for students, staff, and faculty.
Facilitate faith-based, sacramental, and liturgical formation programs.
Plan and execute liturgical events in the Catholic tradition on weekdays and Sundays.
Integrate the basic principles of Catholic social teaching throughout Campus Ministry.
Develop and maintain a strong rapport with students, paying special attention to those with international and minority voices.
Supervise and coordinate a team of peer support students.
Deepen connections with global Jesuit and Catholic networks such as the Canadian Catholic Campus Ministry, the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities in Canada, and the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
Foster existing relationships with Indigenous communities, contributing to the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master of Divinity (M.Div) degree, but consideration will be given to those with proven academic or experiential equivalencies.
Practising Catholic with knowledge of Ignatian spirituality.
Relevant experience with university students or young adults from diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
Clear attention to detail, ability to think critically, and strong decision-making skills.
Possession of valid driver’s licence.
Familiarity with social media as well as oral and written fluency in English.
Availability for evening and weekend service on campus and elsewhere.
