National Indigenous Persons Day Events and Resources 2021
Every June 21st, thousands of Indigenous Peoples celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD). Under the current COVID-19 restrictions, many of the festivities and celebration in honour of this day and of the Indigenous Peoples of Canada, have moved to online formats. To facilitate and encourage the involvement of the faithful in honouring this day, we have put together a series of resources.
We encourage you to attend some of the following virtual events and take some time to familiarize yourself with the history of the Indigenous Peoples of Canada as well as the TRC Calls to action, and the United Nations Declaration on the rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the ways our Archdiocese has been responding to the TRC Calls to action since 2015.
