A Message From The Bishop’s Delegate For Victims
Hello and welcome
My name is Donald Bolen and I serve as the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Regina. I am here to welcome you and greet you. I recently appointed Maureen Dumonceaux as Bishop’s Delegate for Victims of Clergy Sexual Abuse for the Archdiocese of Regina and Deacon David Hudy as Deputy Delegate. They have taken office as of August 1. 2022. Fr. Brad Fahlman has been serving as my delegate since August 2018, and will now assist in other areas. I continue to work with a small group of victims of clergy sexual abuse and a number of support people, who have worked together to create a safe environment where victims can find support and strength to move forward on their journey.
We must unfortunately, as a Church, recognize that the victims have not always been heard and cared for. I want to assure you that if you, or someone you love, has been the victim of clergy sexual abuse or other forms of serious pastoral misconduct, we are committed to hearing from you and being with you. For many people, the simple decision to visit this website represents an act of great courage. We want to acknowledge this courage with gratitude and assure you that you are not alone and will not have to walk this painful path without help. We are striving to improve ourselves and we humbly want to move forward with you towards healing.
If you would like to make a complaint or would like continued support from other victims and their loved ones, or if you need more information about clergy abuse and misconduct, please contact Maureen Dumonceaux at 1 306 400-3655 (or email enquiry@archregina.sk.ca). Please be aware that only the delegate or deputy delegate, David Hudy, have access to this private and confidential phone number and email. There are two other resources victims can turn to: Lorie Harrison, RPC, MPCC is under contract to work with victims in the Archdiocese for free. Her confidential contact information is lorie@heart-song.ca or 1-639-317-8104. The other is Victim Services and Advocacy Pamela Walsh, and she can be contacted at victimserviceadvocacy@gmail.com.
Our hope is to help you identify and take a next step, or simply to access information you need. Please know that you can contact the police at any time. The mission given to the Church by Christ includes both healing and the pursuit of justice. Serving those who have been hurt by the ministers of the Church is not secondary but is at the very heart of the mission of the Church.
My delegate, Maureen Dumonceaux and alternate delegate David Hudy are authorized to assist you with a process to follow that will allow you to progress on your journey. This includes, if you are interested, finding someone who can walk with you and help you identify options as a victim on the road to recovery. Responding quickly and with compassion to any situation of abuse is a priority for us and for the Archdiocese of Regina. We are committed to walking with you on the path of healing and justice.
