The Stewardship Committee is pleased to offer the parishes in our Archdiocese bulletin bits based on the Sunday readings.
These “bits” are a form of Stewardship education and challenge each of us to “get the message out and reinforce it, to encourage believers to translate their discipleship into lives of faithful stewardship.”
Suggestions for use:
Include in your parish bulletin each week.
Form part of the introduction of the Mass for readers.
Provide a focal point for homilies.
Encourage discussion among families, parish groups & committees, etc.
Bulletin Bits Based On the Sunday Readings ~ Year A ~ 2011
Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time:Oct. 23rd
We fulfill the commandment to love our neighbour when we exercise good stewardship - joyfully sharing our gifts of life, abilities, and resources to meet our neighbour’s need.
Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time:Oct. 30th
“The greatest among you will be the one who serves the rest,” Jesus says in today’s Gospel. What wonderful good news for those who give of their time in service to others! See Matthew 23:11
All Saints:Nov 1st
Today’s psalm makes clear that we and everything we think we own actually belong to God instead: “The Lord’s are the earth and its fullness, the world and those who dwell in it.”We are stewards, not owners of our lives and all we possess! See Psalm 24
All Souls:Nov. 2nd
On the Feast of All Souls we pray for those who have gone before us and stand in judgment before God.May we share with one another the treasure of love’s memory, and console one another with the assurance of resurrection.
Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time:Nov. 6th
Like the sensible bridesmaids in today’s parable, good stewards make sure that they, and whatever gifts are theirs to share, are ready to serve when the Master calls.
Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time:Nov. 13th
Good stewards are like the industrious and reliable servants in today’s Gospel, prudently using and multiplying the gifts entrusted to them by God.
