Last updated on November 1, 2016

Just in time for the Feasts of All Saints and All Souls, Eric Gurash and Dr. Brett Salkeld discuss the concept of Purgatory. Is it still a thing? Why would we need teaching on such a thing? Why do Catholics think praying for the dead is so important? If the question about what happens when we die has ever entered your brain, you won't want to miss this!

TF06: Permanent Deacons In The Catholic Church

Last updated on October 25, 2016

Brett coordinates the Permanent Diaconate Program for the Archdiocese of Regina and Eric is currently in formation for the Permanent Diaconate. This topic was a 'no brainer' for both of us! We'll look at the history of the Permanent Diaconate and the role of Permanent Deacons in the Church and in the world. We'll also hear about Eric's experiences in discerning his own call to the Permanent Diaconate and what the formation process has been like so far. Next time your friend asks what a Deacon is, you'll know just what to say!

Episode 05: Catholic Voting

Last updated on October 24, 2016

US elections are in full swing dominating the media throughout North America. Locally, we've got a civic election just weeks away. What better time to talk do a mash-up between two topics one should never bring up at dinner parties - Religion and Politics! This week Brett and Eric discuss what voting with one's conscience means and what Catholics can do when no candidate seems ideal.

This week Brett and Eric introduce you to Michelle Braden and Braden Kuntz (we know...the names confuse us too!) who coordinate the Youth Office for the Archdiocese of Regina. Over the summer, thanks in large part to funding from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, they had the opportunity to lead several young adults from our Archdiocese on a pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2016 in Krakow Poland, and they've graciously agreed to tell us al about it!

Episode 03: Why Theology?

Last updated on October 24, 2016

We have the Bible, as Catholics, we also have the Catechism and the teaching office of the Church, why do we even need theology at all? If you've ever asked or been asked, "Shouldn't our faith be enough?" You'll love this episode!

Episode 02 - What The Heck Is A Theologian

Last updated on October 24, 2016

You're sitting on a plane, and you turn to the woman or the gentleman beside you and, being the polite Christian person you are, ask what they do for a living. Then they tell you they're a theologian, and you're left wondering "What kind of job is THAT?" Today Brett and I discuss his own job description and what gifts theologians bring to the Catholic Church and to our Archdiocese. You won't want to miss it!

TF 01: What is Theology? Released: Sep 20, 2016 For our very first episode of Thinking Faith, We thought we would look into the language that the Church uses for speaking and thinking about the faith which is 'Theology'. Theology is "Faith seeking understanding" and so, for our debut podcast, in addition to introducing ourselves, we thought we would dispel some of the myths and misconceptions that crop up in our minds even just hearing the word 'theology'. We'll discuss what theology is, how we do it and where theology fits in the life of the Church.
