The Regina Diocesan Annual Convention, hosted by St. Joseph’s Catholic Women’s League (CWL), was held as a one-day event for the first time, aligning with the format of the other two Saskatchewan diocesan conventions. The gathering welcomed nearly 120 attendees, marking a strong turnout for the streamlined event.

Committees worked efficiently to ensure the convention’s success, with significant support from volunteers, including members of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Girls’ League. Alongside the convention’s official business, attendees participated in a leadership workshop and heard from several guest speakers.

Deacon Lamont Dyck offered a reflection on “Being Present with Christ,” while Peter Oliver of the Catholic Health Association of Saskatchewan (CHAS) discussed the organization’s work in response to Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Diocesan President Linda Maddaford also addressed the group, speaking on “How Remarkable Women Lead.”

The convention featured a Mass attended by five priests and one deacon, creating a spiritually powerful moment for all. The Church of Our Lady choir, accompanied by a piper, added to the day’s atmosphere, contributing to a meaningful and memorable event.
