The Archdiocese of Regina has released an updated Pastoral Misconduct Policy for Clergy or Persons in a Religious Order aimed at fostering a culture of holiness, integrity, and ethical behaviour. Rooted in the Gospel’s call to servant leadership, the policy encourages clergy to model Christ’s example of humility and selflessness in all areas of ministry. Emphasizing the importance of accountability and discipline, the policy encourages clergy to adopt the servant model of Jesus Christ in the exercise of authority. It offers a framework for addressing serious pastoral misconduct while supporting renewal and restoration.
This new policy replaces the 2013 version, Archdiocesan Policy and Procedure for Cases of Alleged Sexual Abuse or Misconduct, which addressed both clergy sexual abuse and pastoral misconduct under a single document. The updated approach now treats these matters separately
Archbishop Donald Bolen invites clergy, parishioners, and others who are interested, to carefully review the policy and offer feedback to himself or his Vicar General. The Archdiocese will review suggestions and may offer further revisions based on the feedback received.
