Sister Loretta Bonokoski rndm 

Sr. Loretta Bonokoski(Sr. Mary St. Clara) Passed away in Moquegua, Peru on July 31, 2015. She was 84 years old and had been a member of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions for 66 years. Sister was a creative primary teacher and taught for several years in Saskatoon, SK, Sioux, ON, and Brandon, MB. In 1968 she left for Moquegua, Peru where she dedicated the next 47 years of her life to the abandoned poor. She was the co- founder of Hogar Belen, a home for abused and abandoned women and their children, and for orphaned and handicapped children. She will be greatly missed by her three remaining siblings, Gordon Bonokoski, Sr. Frances Bonokoski, rndm, and Mary Lou Audet and numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews as well as her religious family, the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and her adopted family in Peru. Her “children” from the Hogar gave her a moving farewell as she was laid to rest in the local cemetery in Moquegua. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Maria Senior Home, 4215 Regina Ave, Regina, SK.
