Rob Currie has resigned

Regina’s Roman Catholic School Division Director of Education, Rob Currie, has resigned to take on new challenges with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education. ”I can’t believe you pulled this off without me knowing about it,” said a surprised Reverend Stephen Bill when he discovered Resurrection Parish plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his ordination. It was celebrated at the church’s regularly scheduled April 24 11: a.m. Sunday Mass followed by a lunch and playful roasting in the hall. A group of women from Regina’s North Central neighborhood is trying to do something to reduce violence in the area. They carry out patrols every Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m, not to get involved in any perceived violence but to encourage their neighbours to be more vigilant and to show they care.“This came out of an initiative called North Central End the Violence,” said Shawna Oochoo, one of the organizers.
