Dear friends in Christ Jesus,

Warm greetings in the Risen Lord. “Alleluia! Alleulia! Alleluia! Give thanks to the risen Lord.” The Easter
psalm response inspires hope that death does not have the final word in our lives. Our God is the Living
God, the God of Resurrection, Love, Mercy, and Life! May is Reverence for Life month in the Archdiocese
of Regina. This is a dedicated time, in the Easter season and in Spring, that we celebrate joyfully the
precious and abundant gift of life that God gives to us.

I encourage every parish to make May a time to focus on the needs of the unborn, parents, the elderly, the
poor, the sick, the lonely, the imprisoned, the hungry, and the abandoned with special prayer and with
works of mercy. Please be creative in your approaches to live out the Gospel of Life in your communities.

Here are some resources for your parishes for May 2023 on our website that can help you with these works:
https://archregina.sk.ca/grouppage/life/:

• Three 3-5 minute videos that celebrate human life will be sent out through the Tuesday File.
Please consider showing these before Mass.
• For those looking for preaching aids, there will be homiletic notes for the Sunday celebration of
May 7th sent out to all pastors. These will be sent our after Easter to all Pastors; check the
Tuesday File.
• Please include the Reverence for Life prayer during each Mass in the month of May. Slides, and
printable cards will be sent in the Tuesday File, April 25th
Other ideas that your parish might want to consider:
• Find new ways to help and care for shut-ins, the sick, patients in hospital, mothers, and the
elderly.
• Organizing food/clothing drives.
• Collecting clothing and furniture for an immigrant family, etc.
• Celebrating children in your parishes.
• Hosting a grandparents appreciation tea.

This is a short list. Whatever you do please let us know so we can highlight the great works happening
around the Archdiocese. Reach out to Tashia Toupin for this.

May God, the Creator and Lover of life, bless abundantly all those whose lives are endangered and
forgotten. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Tashia Toupin, Social Justice
Coordinator, at [email protected].
